Strategies and Data for Children’s Publishing, and the Biggest Week In Digital

December 9, 2013
By Michael Cader

In January we kick off “Digital Book World week” with our third annual one-day Launch Kids event — the biggest trade conference focused specifically on children’s publishing and digital evolution. The most successful of our many standalone Publishers Launch events, Launch Kids provides deep focus on the complex and nuanced issues and opportunities specifically for children’s book publishers and the start-ups doing business with them.

We’ll have detailed new datasets including sales figures from both Nielsen and Readerlink; and analysis of how children and families engage with digital media from Insight Strategy Group and PlayCollection.

Looking broadly across mobile, social media, gaming, licensing and education, we’ll examine how to reach today’s kids best and how to manage intellectual property across the growing landscape of digital options. The packed day of 16 sessions and over 25 expert speakers concludes with executive-level analysis from Launch Kids conference chairs Lorraine Shanley and Mike Shatzkin along with HarperCollins Children’s president Susan Katz and Simon & Schuster Children’s publisher Jon Anderson.

Check out the full program here , and register through the regular Digital Book World sign-up page. For still more programming, there’s a two-day Children’s Package that adds on the first day of the full DBW conference (with an afternoon of additional children’s focused breakouts) or the high-value Total Access Pass combining Launch Kids and ALL of Digital Book World at a great price.

This is the week to make your Digital Book World and Launch Kids plans, before the last round of discounted prices expires this Friday. (Please note, too, that the discounted block of hotel rooms at the Sheraton is almost gone.) Publishers Lunch readers get another 10 percent off individual DBW conference and Total Access tickets when you use our registration link. This is the absolutely best price available for these tickets.
