Manager of production and digital distribution at Random House Audio Cynthia Cowen, 79, passed away Wednesday. She first joined the division in 1989 as an administrative assistant and over the course of her nearly 25 years there became a key production liaison with digital accounts and effective RH Audio historian. RH Audio publisher Amanda D’Acierno said in a statement: “Our office anchor, our RH Audio historian, and our beloved friend, the irreplaceable Cynthia Cowen will be truly missed by us all.”
Founder of Grossman Publishers and the man who named, edited and published Ralph Nader’s book Unsafe at Any Speed, Richard Grossman died last Monday at age 92 of leukemia. He sold his publishing business to Viking in 1968.
