Jostling for talent among the big literary agencies continues. Just as Kirby Kim joins Janklow, Nesbit from WME, Alexandra Machinist is leaving Janklow, Nesbit after 3 years with the agency for ICM Partners. Department co-leader Sloan Harris says “Alexandra’s impeccable taste and commitment to building her clients’ careers has enabled her to represent an incredibly diverse and successful list. The other co-leader Esther Newberg adds, “She is a highly respected agent in the publishing community, and her experience in representing all types of genres will make her a valuable asset to our publications team.”
At Disney-Hyperion, Rotem Moscovich has been promoted to senior editor. In addition, Disney Press has promoted Nachie Marsham to executive editor, Brooke Dworkin to senior editor, and Clarissa Wong rejoins to assistant editor.
Maris Kreizman has joined Kickstarter as publishing projects specialist. Previously she was editorial director of digital content at Barnes & Noble.
Lucas Wittmann has joined Regan Arts as associate publisher and executive editor. Previously he spent the past four and a half years as literary editor and senior editor at The Daily Beast.
At Kensington, Vida Engstrand has been promoted to associate director, marketing & communications, while Alex Nicolajsen moves up to associate director, social media & digital sales and Sakina Williams has been promoted to marketing manager, advertising & promotion. In addition, Ellen Chan has been named communications and marketing manager for Lyrical Press. Previously she was online marketing manager at Gallery and Pocket.
Laura Duane will join Diversion Books as senior acquisitions editor on April 7. She currently holds the same title at Penguin Random House Audio. Hannah Black will join the company as marketing coordinator on March 31, moving over from Dorchester Publishing.
Hannah Elnan will join Sasquatch Books on April 1 as acquisitions editor. Previously she was an associate editor at Ballantine Bantam Dell.
Sasha Tropp has joined The Experiment as editor. She was previously an associate editor at Sterling.
Bloomsbury will consolidate Walker Children’s Books into the larger Bloomsbury Children’s, resulting in the departure of Walker Books publisher Emily Easton, PW reports. The consolidation move comes less than a week after our report that Peter Ginna will leave as publisher and editorial director of Bloomsbury Press.
Former vp, business development and content acquisition at Copia Sol Rosenberg has left after more than 4 years to pursue new technology ventures with consulting company DDC, including a new publishing startup currently in stealth mode.
