May Book Picks

May 1, 2014
By Michael Cader

Amazon‘s best books of the month for May features Glenn Greenwald’s No Place to Hide as the “spotlight” title and Joel Dicker’s The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair as their featured debut. Two of our Spring/Summer Buzz Books make the list as well — which means you can start reading them right now ahead of publication, along with over 20 other potential breakout titles due over the next few months:

Natchez Burning, Greg Iles
Young God, Katherine Faw Morris

The rest of the Amazon list for May features:

To Rise Again at a Decent Hour, Joshua Ferris
The Painter, Peter Heller
The Noble Hustle, Colson Whitehead
The Three, Sarah Lotz
50 Children, Steven Pressman
Delancey, Molly Wizenberg
All the Light We Cannot See, Anthony Doerr

Over at Costco, the Pennie’s Pick for May is Ruth Reichl’s debut novel, DELICIOUS.

And Target has chosen Ron Irwin’s novel FLAT WATER TUESDAY as its May pick.

In still more lists for the month, USA Today has their own list of 10 notable books on the way this month. Two more PL Buzz Books are featured there — Wonderland by Stacey D’Erasmo, and The Bees by Laline Paull  — along with books by Charlaine Harris, Jo Nesbo, Michael Korda, Jeffery Deaver, Tom Robbins and others.
