Perseus Retains Legato — And Suchomel

August 18, 2014
By Michael Cader

Perseus ceo David Steinberger has addressed one of the questions raised when the sale of the company to Hachette and Ingram was cancelled: The recently-formed boutique distribution arm Legato Publishers Group, which Ingram said it would fold into PGW (with which it is already an “affiliate”), will remain as its own line at Perseus. Founder Mark Suchomel will remain in place as president and Jeff Tegge continues as vp for sales.

Steinberger writes: “Mark and Jeff have delivered on their promise, not only to our company, but to our clients. Over the past year we have built a successful business comprised of 24 outstanding independent publishers under the Legato brand…. This success was highlighted in many recent conversations that we have had with our Legato clients and Perseus employees. Going forward, we will continue to explore and expand ways in which PGW and Legato can partner with each other to provide the best possible service to our Legato clients.”
