As last week’s AAP statistics confirmed, children’s and YA publishing continues to be the driver of growth in publishing. For three years we have packed ballrooms for the biggest trade conference on children’s publishing, and on January 13, 2015 Publishers Launch Kids returns, once again kicking off three days of the Digital Book World Conference and Expo.
We’ll look at the booming world of young adult fandom; examine the growing, kids-specific subscription models for home and school use that are different from the better-publicized adult book subscription players; and update on the increasingly successful efforts at personalizing children’s stories.
Pete McCarthy will highlight case studies of successful traditional and digital marketing campaigns; Eric Huang and Ashley Anderson Zantop will examine digital storytelling projects that remain rooted in print; and a few sessions look at the ambitious intersection of major new players such as Amplify and Google Education with traditional content. Plus, as always, the day will begin with original data from a spectrum of experts, and finish with discussion among top children’s publishing executives and Launch Kids programming co-chair Lorraine Shanley.
As with all of Digital Book World, the best time to register is right now, before the first price increase on October 7. Sign up for the one-day Launch Kids event by itself, or all three days of Launch Kids plus our best DBW yet with the “total access” ticket. Use our PL registration page to get the best discount available on individual DBW tickets.
