In promotions, vp, director of trade paperbacks Ken Carpenter moves up to vp, associate publisher, adding responsibility for reference and field guides. Jenna Johnson is promoted to executive editor; Nicole Angeloro moves up to editor; Ben Hyman and Naomi Gibbs are both associate editors; and Laney Everson is promoted to editorial associate.
Mark Hillesheim will join Legato Publishers Group as national accounts manager on March 2. Previously he was vp, national accounts at HarperCollins. Kim Highland has joined Perseus Distribution as manager, client services. Previously she was director of national accounts and director of Amazon sales at Penguin Young Readers Group. In addition, Jessie Borkan has also joined as manager, client services. She was previously director of rights, contracts, and finance at Kuhn Projects Literary Agency.
At Spain’s Planeta, Joseph Creuheras Margenat will move up to president. Among the company’s controlling family, José Lara García has taken over as CEO, as Carlos Fernandez Sanchiz moves over to serve as executive vice president.
