Mary Faria will join Perseus on April 20 in the newly created role of vp, mass merch sales, reporting to Sabrina McCarthy. Previously she was director of sales at becker!&mayer. Rick Monteith, Peter D’Erasmo, Christina Douglas, and Cherish Barrett will now report to Faria.

At Random House Children’s Publishing, Stephanie O’Cain has been promoted to senior marketing manager; Sarah Wharton moves up to assistant marketing manager, and Alissa Nigro has been promoted to marketing coordinator. In addition, Hannah Black joins as assistant marketing manager from Diversion Books, where she was marketing coordinator.

Sarah Bush has been promoted to audio rights agent at Trident Media Group.

Catholic multimedia and book publisher Franciscan Media has hired Jon M. Sweeney as editorial director of Franciscan Media Books, beginning August 1. Most recently he was editor-in-chief and publisher at Paraclete Press.

At Cave Henricks Communications, Kaila Nickel has been promoted to associate director of publicity, and Margaret Kingsbury moves up to publicity manager.

Awards
The Guggenheim Foundation announced its list of more than 173 fellows, including Rivka Galchen, Vikram Chandra, Anthony Marra, Kevin Powers, and Akhil Sharma (fiction) and Meghan Daum, Melissa Fay Greene, Jordan Ellenberg, Alex Ross, and David Ulin (nonfiction).
