At Simon & Schuster Children’s, Christian Trimmer has been promoted to executive editor; Kristin Ostby moves up to senior editor; and Catherine Laudone has been promoted to assistant editor. In addition, Christine Dong has been promoted to senior demand planner.

At Macmillan Audio, Robert Allen has been promoted to associate publisher, while Samantha Edelson moves up to marketing director.

At Candlewick, Zoe Luderitz has been promoted to senior marketing manager. In addition, Andie Krawczyk has been promoted to manager of library marketing and outreach.

At Chronicle Books, Ariel Richardson has been promoted to associate editor, children’s.

Announcements
Barnes & Noble will host discussions of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD at all 649 stores on May 14, exactly two months before the publication date of GO SET A WATCHMAN. The retailer also plans a related movie discussion at all stores on June 18, as well as a July 13 MOCKINGBIRD readathon.

On Wednesday afternoon, the National Book Foundation announced the winner, Washington DC-based nonprofit Reach Incorporated, and four honorable mentions of their Innovations In Reading prizes, supporting “individuals and institutions that have developed innovative means of creating and sustaining a lifelong love of reading.”

James Patterson announced another series of bookseller grants totaling $100,000 to independent bookstores in Australia and New Zealand.
