At HarperCollins Christian Books, Stephanie Newton has been promoted to marketing director, backlist, as part of an expanded focus on backlist titles at the company.

Claire Ivett has been promoted to associate editor at Da Capo Lifelong Books.

In Canada, Steve Osgoode has joined Joe Books as president. Previously he was director, digital products at HarperCollins Canada.

Awards
At an awards ceremony for the Audie Awards Thursday night, Mandela: An Audio History by Radio Diaries; narrated by Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela, and Joe Richman (Highbridge) won the audiobook of the year award. The complete list of winners is here.

Distribution
HarperCollins has extended and expanded its contract with LibreDigital to provide global ebook distribution for HarperCollins, Harlequin, and HarperCollins Christian Publishing, while all HarperCollins divisions will use LibreDigital’s Harvest platform to seamlessly manage and track a dynamic matrix of digital asset and metadata distribution needs.

Summer Reading
The summer reading lists from newspapers and magazines have finally started to arrive. USA Today unveiled its 25 picks earlier this week, while the Miami Herald singles out a book to read each summer week and the LA Times lists 136 books in several categories. Esquire also announced its summer fiction beach reads.
