At Book Expo America last week, Nielsen svp global managing director Jonathan Stolper presented some data from across Nielsen’s tracking services, including — for the first time — ebook data from PubTrack Digital. Because of misunderstandings about how various industry data views are compiled, you may have encountered some confused or incorrect accounts of this new data elsewhere. PubTrack Digital reports actual unit ebook sales, in the same way that Bookscan reports actual unit print book sales. Julie Barer, Faye Bender, Brettne Bloom and Elisabeth Weed are launching The Book Group, a new full-service literary agency. Barer, Bender, and Weed have each spent the past 10 years running their own agencies; Bloom joins from Kneerim, Williams & Bloom, where she spent the past 15 years (and 3 as a partner.) Vintage will publish EL James‘ next novel GREY on June 18 as a trade paperback and ebook. The sequel to the FIFTY SHADES trilogy will be told from Christian Grey’s perspective, with the June 18 publication date apparently chosen to commemorate the character’s birthday.
