Kathleen Schmidt will join Running Press as vp, director of marketing and publicity on August 10, reporting to Kristen Kiser and working out of the company’s Philadelphia offices. Previously director of publicity at Perseus’s joint-venture line Weinstein Books, Schmidt will continue to handle corporate communications for the Perseus Books Group as well.
The American Booksellers Association is restructuring its technology department into two separate teams — one responsible for all of the association’s general technology needs, the other for IndieCommerce. As such Greg Galloway has been promoted to technology director and will become a member of ABA’s senior staff, while Geeta Nathan moves up to manager of IndieCommerce.
At Zondervan, Madison Trammel has been promoted to senior acquisitions editor, digital, reference, and reflective titles.
Further to the announcement of the new Andrew Nurnberg Associates Warsaw office yesterday, Aleksandra Lapinska confirms that Book/Lab is going independent. “We thank Andrew Nurnberg for the great partnership since 1996. However, the time has come to explore new paths of development.” She adds, “Continuing our fruitful co-operation with our current clients, we are confident that Book/lab is on a new, exciting path of development. We wish our former partner every success in his new endeavor.”
While Jonathan Cape will move up the publication of Bill Clegg‘s Booker-longlisted debut DID YOU EVER HAVE A FAMILY to August 25, Scout Press will keep its planned September 8 publication date for the book.
