Michael Ballanco has been hired as Hachette Book Group’s as svp, chief information officer, starting September 28, filling the position vacated by Ralph Munsen. Ballanco was CIO at the Warner Music Group and prior to that at EMI Music.

Caitlin McDonald has joined the Donald Maass Literary Agency. She was formerly an associate agent at Sterling Lord Literistic.

At Grove Atlantic, Peter Blackstock has been promoted to senior editor. In addition, John Mark Boling moves up to senior publicity manager, Justina Batchelor has been promoted to publicity manager, and Becca Putman has been promoted to sales and marketing associate and academic marketing manager.

At Ecco, Stephanie Mendoza has been promoted to associate publicist.

Chronicle announced a number of recent promotions. Elizabeth Yarborough, Courtney Drew, and Caitlin Kirkpatrick have all been promoted to associate editor. Genny McAuley is being promoted to national accounts manager, while Casie Kolbeck moves up to trade sales coordinator. Finally, Christina Mott is being promoted to associate client account manager, and Erin Dunigan is moving positions to associate sales manager, special markets.

Distribution
Ingram Publisher Services announced the addition of five new publisher clients, including Books & Books Press, the publishing division of the well-known bookstores. The other new clients are: Wilfrid Laurier University Press, Made for Success Publishing, Waterhouse Press and Hoffman Media.
