Donald Roseman has joined Ingram in the new role of vp, retail, focusing on the company’s overall retail business, including national accounts, clubs, field sales, consumer direct fulfillment and Ingram International. Roseman was previously general manager and svp, sales and business development at Goodbaby International Holdings.

At David C. Cook, Catherine DeVries has been promoted to publisher of children’s resources.

Foreign rights director for Brandt & Hochman Marianne Merola will represent translation rights for the Joy Harris Literary Agency as well as of March 1.

Foreword Reviews has hired Seth Dellon as director of circulation and audience development (he was previously digital business manager at PW) and reviewer Michelle Anne Schingler as associate editor.

Next Sunday’s New York Times Magazine celebrates the “quietly subversive fictions”of novelist Dana Spiotta in advance of the release of Innocents and Others next month: “Over the course of her career, the author has created a new kind of Great American Novel.”

Awards
The $50,000 Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize was given to Martha Hodes‘s Mourning Lincoln, about how the nation reacted to Lincoln’s assassination.

Former president Jimmy Carter, 91, won his second Grammy for best spoken word album for his reading of his memoir, A Full Life: Reflections at 90.
