Buzz Books for BEA

May 3, 2016
By Michael Cader

Our two new free Buzz Books: Fall/Winter samplers of exclusive pre-publication excerpts got off to a strong start yesterday, with thousands of downloads, many appreciative reviews already pouring in at NetGalley (“This is a fantastic resource for all serious readers”; “This is a gift from the book gods.”; “Reading the Buzz Books is like a gourmet tasting menu of bookish delights. Excuse the hyperbole, I’m a little giddy from reading so many teases of stories that I absolutely want to read.”); and lots of activity on social media, including boosts from some of our most-followed authors, including actor Mara Wilson and buzzFW16Lauren Oliver. Indeed, the Buzz Books selections give authors — as well as publishers and agents — a great way of activating fans well ahead of launch. And it helps build interest for BEA author appearances as well.

Nine authors from the adult book  (Marie Benedict; Sonali Dev; Emily Fridlund; Nathan Hill; Affinity Konar; Beth Macy; Meg Little Reilly; Anna Snoekstra; Amor Towles) and 10 authors from the YA sampler (Kendare Blake; Sharon Cameron; Melissa de la Cruz; Keira Drake; Stephanie Garber; Jeff Giles; Lauren Oliver; Sarah Porter; Chelsea Sidoti; Booki Vivat) will be appearing at BEA next week. We have many of those events flagged within our comprehensive, all-in-one-spreadsheet BEA schedule. Go to publun.ch/BEA16sched to view or download it.
