Peter Senftleben has joined Crooked Lane Books as acquisitions editor. Previously he was an associate editor at Kensington Books.

Workman announced a number of recent promotions in the marketing and publicity departments. Moira Kerrigan, who left the company briefly, has returned as the associate director of marketing on the adult trade side. Noreen Herits is promoted to publicity and marketing director for the juvenile titles. Estelle Hallick is now the publicist and marketing associate for the children’s list; Laura DiNardo has been promoted to digital marketing coordinator; and Jenny Lee moves up to to associate publicist.

At Harlequin, Karen Reid has been promoted to editor and Dana Grimaldi moves up to associate editor.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has hired Martin Davy for the newly-created role of chief platform architect and evp of engineering, reporting directly to ceo Linda Zecher. He was vp of worldwide product engineering for software company Pegasystems.

The Women in Publishing for Hillary Clinton event has been postponed until September 30 “in the interest of providing the most concentrated and united publishing industry support for the campaign.” (Update: This was in error. A separate Women in Publishing event for September 20 was cancelled, in favor of consolidating efforts for the previously-announced Publishing People for Hillary event, the date of which has not changed.)
