People, Etc.

October 31, 2016
By Michael Cader

Katrin Hagerty has joined Insight Editions as foreign rights salesperson, and Alison Corn has joined the company as assistant design manager.

Former managing director of Palgrave Macmillan in the UK Jaime Marshall is launching a literary agency, focused on upmarket nonfiction and popular economics, psychology, and business. Marshall will work in partnership with A M Heath.

In his first public remarks on being named the Nobel laureate for literature, Bob Dylan told a reporter for the Telegraph he is “absolutely” planning on attending the Nobel ceremony in Sweden on December 10, “if it’s at all possible.” He says the honor is “amazing, incredible. Whoever dreams about something like that?”

Acquisitions
Now that Halloween is here, nearly-extinct Jolly Fish Press has announced that its assets — including all existing and forthcoming titles — will be acquired by North Star Editions. Publisher Christopher Loke says in the release, “It’s with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to five wonderful years at the helm of JFP, but I’m grateful that the books—and the mission we set out to achieve—will live on under the North Star Editions brand.” Privately-owned North Star acquired Flux from Llewellyn earlier this year.
