F+W Media has appointed David Pyle general manager of its fine arts, writing and design group, effective April 24. Previously, he was managing director of sales for the New Hope Networks.
In the UK, Toby Jones will join Headline on May 9 as editorial director for the commercial fiction team, focusing on crime novels and thrillers, reporting to Jennifer Doyle. Most recently he was group marketing and publicity director at Simon & Schuster UK.
Mike Symons has joined children’s publisher Parragon Books as their new ceo. He had been group sales director at Penguin Random House UK. Symons fills the slot vacated when Paul Taylor left Parragon.
