Marlene Kelly has been promoted to senior marketing manager for Amazon Publishing. Meg Reid has been promoted to director of Hub City Press effective July 1. Founder and current director Betsy Teter will retain the title of editor and director of development. Also starting July 1, Hub City Press titles will be distributed by Publishers Group West. Alongside his attorney and his existing representation for publishing, novelist John Irving signed with Gersh Agency for theatrical representation. PubNet and PubEasy US Sold to MVB In Germany

NPD has sold the Pubnet and PubEasy ordering services, which they acquired from Nielsen as part of the Bookscan group at the end of 2016, to Germany’s MVB Marketing, a subsidiary of the German Publisher and Bookseller Association. The transfer is effective July 1, and the services will comprise a new, New York-based division, MVB US Inc. Ted Hill will serve as general manager. He has been an industry consultant through his THA Consulting. The current technology for the ordering systems is licensed until the end of 2018, after which, the announcement indicates, it will be replaced with MVB’s own platform. Crown Relaunches Currency

Crown is launching what they are calling a new imprint focused on business books, bringing back an old moniker first used by Doubleday, called Currency, led by Tina Constable. Currency will take over from and expand upon the Crown Business line, which will be “retired over time.” Forthcoming Crown Business books will be published under the new Currency banner, and backlist reprints will be rebranded as they are reprinted. She was group vice president for global licensing, international sales and marketing, contracts and legal affairs for Perseus Books Group, where she worked for 18 years. At Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, editorial director, lifestyle Deb Brody has been promoted to vp, editor-in-chief. (She joined the company a little under a year ago.) In her new role she “will expand her oversight and editorial work across the lifestyle and general interest teams,” adding oversight for Alex Littlefield and a to-be-hired senior editor.
