By Erin Somers

Melissa Danaczko has joined the Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency as an agent. Danaczko will represent literary and commercial fiction, as well as select non-fiction. She was most recently senior editor at Doubleday.

Dana Murphy has been promoted to agent for The Book Group.

Katharine McAnarney has joined Little, Brown Children’s as senior publicist. Most recently, she was publicist for Penguin Children’s.

Sara Wigal has joined JKS Communications as senior book publicist (previously, she was associate publicist for Open Book Publicity). Ellen Whitfield has joined as book publicist (previously, she coordinated books coverage for the Waco Tribune Herald and other papers).

Peter Mauceri, vp of national accounts for Hachette Book Group and Little, Brown’s sales liaison until his retirement in 2008, died on Friday, May 25. Mauceri spent his entire 35-year publishing career in sales, starting with Warner Books in 1986. HBG writes: “We remember fondly Peter’s booming laugh and fabulous stories – but he was also a great sales person who had superb longstanding account relationships and terrific instincts about what would really move a buyer, and what would draw in a consumer.”

Partnerships
Rutgers University Press announced a partnership with Bucknell University Press, under which Bucknell’s books “will be fully-integrated into the Rutgers University Press publishing program,” starting in spring 2018. Rutgers University Press Micah Kleit says in the announcement, “Together, both presses will enjoy the opportunity to expand their visibility in their respective fields and take advantage of the economies of scale that we attain by working together.”

Children’s educational publisher Carson-Dellarosa has acquired Rourke Educational Media. They say “the transaction supports Carson-Dellosa’s strategy to expand into schools and libraries, and adds over 7,000 titles” to their product line.

Promotions
Overdrive’s next Big Library Read, with patrons at over 20,000 libraries worldwide borrowing the same featured book, will focus on The Other Einstein by Marie Benedict.

Distribution
Casemate Group will distribute Fernhurst Books in North America starting July 1, and will also serve as their global e-book distributor.
