Amazon has promoted director of consumables for Germany Rocco Braeuniger to country manager for Australia, where the company plans a significant expansion. They have chosen a location about 26 miles from Melbourne for their first warehouse, which will stock “hundreds of thousands of products for delivery to customers across Australia.”
Rebecca Bond, 45, senior designer for HMH Children’s, died after a brief illness. A former educator, Bond also wrote and illustrated her own children’s books, including Escape from Baxter’s Barn, Just Like a Baby, and Out of the Woods.
Historical romance author Kathryn Caskie died over the weekend following a long illness.
