October Buzz Books Monthly

September 5, 2017
By Erin Somers

Our Buzz Books Monthly program continues with the October collection, available now on Amazon, iBooks, and NetGalley. You’ll find exclusive excerpts of seven titles due for publication during the month of October, and more — including, for the first time in Buzz Books, we audiobook versions of three of the featured titles, plus with a special bonus audio-only excerpt. (For now, the audio only works on iBooks and NetGalley EPUB versions; it does not work on Kindle.)

Enjoy text and audio previews on musical detective story The Prague Sonata by Bradford Morrow; Sarah Bailey’s debut suspense thriller The Dark Lake; and Life Detonated by Kathleen Murray Moran, a memoir about recovering from her husband’s death by a terrorist act. Plus, be sure to listen to Armistead Maupin’s audio excerpt from of his new memoir Logical Family, about growing up in the South and moving to San Francisco.

The other featured October excerpts are two novels:
Seven Days of Us, by Francesca Hornak
The First Day, by Phil Harrison

And two works of nonfiction:
The Spectrum of Hope, by Gayatri Devi
Where the Past Begins, by Amy Tan

As always, the monthlies are your first and best place to turn for a real insider’s taste of what to read next, and what the book world will be talking about next month. For even more excerpts of the year’s most anticipated titles, be sure to check out our two Buzz Books 2017 Fall/Winter collections as well as Buzz Books 2017: Romance.

Beyond the titles featured in the new Monthly, the full Fall/Winter 2017 Buzz Books collections also include these October releases to sample now:

Mental, by Jaime Lowe
The Tiger’s Daughter, by K Arsenault Rivera
We’re Going to Need More Wine, by Gabrielle Union
