Jenica Nasworthy has been promoted to managing editor and Katrina Groover moves up to senior production editor for Simon & Schuster Children’s and Paula Wiseman Books. In addition, Clare McGlade has been promoted to senior production editor for Atheneum and Margaret K. McElderry Books, while Rebecca Vitkus is now associate production editor for Aladdin and Simon Pulse.

At Soho Press, Mark Doten has been promoted to vp, executive editor.

Faye Bi joins Holiday House as publicity manager. Most recently, she was senior publicist at Simon & Schuster.

Katie Cooper has joined Sourcebooks as digital content specialist. She was previously social media manager at Wyzant.

Awards
The FT and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award was given to Janesville: An American Story, by Amy Goldstein, which explores the human consequences of the General Motors assembly plant closure in the American town of Janesville. As Goldstein noted in accepting the award, it’s unusual to give a business book prize to a work that explores the effect of business on society. She is also the first solo female author to the win the prize.

Additionally, the Bracken Bower Prize for the best business book proposal by an author aged under 35 was given to Mehran Gul for The New Geography of Innovation, looking at innovative start-ups outside of Silicon Valley.
