At Ten Speed Press, Kaitlin Ketchum has been promoted to senior editor.

Georgia Bodnar has been promoted to associate editor at Viking.

Natalie Hallak has been promoted to assistant editor at Park Row Books and Hanover Square Press.

Alyssa Awe has been promoted to senior vice president, strategic operations and projects for Penguin Random House.

At Simon & Schuster Audio, Elisa Shokoff has been promoted to vice president, executive producer; Sarah Lieberman has been promoted to vice president, associate publisher; Lauren Pires has been promoted to assistant director of marketing and publicity.

Charlton Villavelez has been promoted to production coordinator for Simon & Schuster Children’s.

At Workman, Rebecca Carlisle has been promoted to senior director of publicity and marketing, as Selina Meere leaves the company on January 5 after 9 years to move with her family to the west coast. Chloe Puton has been promoted to associate director of publicity.

William Gass, 93, died Wednesday at his home in St. Louis, MO. He was the award-winning author of three novels, including Omensetter’s Luck (1966) and Middle C (2013), three collections of short stories, a collection of novellas, and several works of nonfiction. His editor at Knopf, Victoria Wilson, said in a statement: “Bill was a master writer, thinker, inspirer and human being. His writing was important and daring.”

PubWest is giving their Jack D. Rittenhouse Award for lifetime achievement to Shelf Awareness co-founders John Mutter and Jenn Risko.
