July 3, 2018
By Erin Somers

Vanessa Vazquez has been promoted to executive director of client sales services at Hachette Book Group.

Sanford J. Greenburger Associates has been appointed children’s and YA scout for V&R Editoras in Latin America and Brazil.

Emanuela Anechoum joins Europa Editions/Edizioni EO in the new position of international rights manager, based Rome. She was rights manager at Blake Friedman.

Sold
Australian trade magazine Books+Publishing has been sold by ProQuest’s Thorpe-Bowker to general manager Gary Pengelly, who will operate through the new company Books and Publishing Pty Ltd. He said: “The opportunity to be custodian of an iconic Australian publishing industry brand was irresistible and I must thank ProQuest for recognizing the importance of B+P to our local industry and helping to facilitate the transfer back to local ownership.”

Book+Publishing editor-in-chief Jackie Tang will step down on July 13 — the magazine says it is unrelated to the sale, and publishing and digital media coordinator Andrew Wrathall will take over. He has been with the company since 2009.

Picks
Reese Witherspoon‘s July Book Club pick is Next Year In Havana by Chanel Cleeton.

Distribution
Hopkins Fulfillment Services will begin distributing University of South Carolina Press this fall.
