Walmart is preparing to launch their retail partnership with Kobo ebooks, audiobooks and devices, announced in January. One Texas MobileRead user took pictures of in-store fixtures as they were being installed. Walmart stores will sell Kobo ereading devices, along with cards redeemable for ebooks, and audiobook subscriptions. Walmart’s website features ebooks help pages now, and Kobo posted a video about the Walmart ebooks app on YouTube on Monday. A Walmart ebooks app will launch shortly. She has been editorial director for fiction at Crown and helped launch both the Hogarth and Sarah Jessica Parker for Hogarth imprints. Simon & Schuster Rejects Legal Threat from Trump’s Attorney
Simon & Schuster is the second book publisher to join the pointlessly threatened with prior restraint by President Trump club. On Monday Trump’s attorney Charles Harder, writing on behalf of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc, sent a letter to Gallery Books about Omarosa Manigault-Newman’s book UNHINGED, which was released on Tuesday. He claimed the book “violates several provisions of Ms. Manigault-Newman’s written agreement with the company,” including a non-disparagement clause and a confidentiality clause.
