People, Etc.

Courtney Code has been promoted to associate editor at Abrams.

Departing Orion group publisher Jon Wood will join Rogers, Coleridge and White as an agent in January.

At Simon & Schuster, Allison Stegeland has been promoted to the newly created role of sales associate in the international sales channel. Henna Cho has been promoted to sales coordinator in the e-audio sales group.

In Germany, Hans-Peter Ubleis, who had been publisher at Droemer Knaur for nearly 20 years, will return to Holtzbrinck in an advisory role. In the newly created position, he will focus on getting German authors published by Droemer Knaur, Kiepenheuer & Witsch, Rowohlt and S. Fischer into English-language markets in translation. CEO of Holtzbrinck Germany Joerg Pfuhl says, “We are convinced of the quality of our German authors and believe that intensifying our efforts in foreign markets can significantly increase their opportunities abroad, particularly in the US, the UK and worldwide in English translations.”

Curtis Brown UK‘s parent company Original Talent has bought a “significant” stake in talent agency Tavistock Wood. Together, the two companies have created Open Book, a production company that will create projects with agency clients. The first series announced is an adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s novel The Pursuit of Love, written by Emily Mortimer.
