November 5, 2018
By Erin Somers

F+W Media has established a new standalone books group with Heidi Sachner joining as head of books (in September, according to her LinkedIn page). Most recently she had been vp, Two Rivers Distribution at the Ingram Content Group. Pam Wissman has been promoted to executive director, heading up the editorial and design teams, and Greg Nock has been promoted to production director.

Moving
As Penguin prepares to vacate their buildings downtown (with Penguin employees moving into the expanded PRH headquarters at 1745 Broadway), DK announced a new lease for their unit at 1450 Broadway, near Bryant Park, which they will occupy by December 20. Senior VP, North America Mary Marotta writes, “Signing a long-term lease on our new office space is an important commitment, as we focus on our growth
goals and development here in New York.”

Awards
In the UK, nominees were announced for the PFD/Sunday Times Young Writer award:

ELMET, by Fiona Mozley
KINGS OF THE YUKON: AN ALASKAN RIVER JOURNEY, by Adam Weymouth
THE MERMAID AND MRS HANCOCK, by Imogen Hermes Gowar (a Publishers Lunch Fall/Winter Buzz Book)
THE READING CURE, by Laura Freeman
