Real Sales Data, Broadly Accessible

April 12, 2019By Michael Cader

We’ve had a great reception to our latest initiative opening up access to real book sales from Bookscan. It’s been a little over a month since we launched affordable monthly subscriptions to a limited package of NPD Bookscan sales data, that lets qualified members follow or research up to 5 different ISBNs a month. (Our Bookscan sales offer are available only to agents, scouts and authors.) Now anyone can afford to research and follow industry-standard book sales data whenever needed.

For each ISBN, you’ll see actual, tracked US print sales for the most recent week, the year to date, and lifetime, starting in 2004. The price is $25 a month, and like a basic PM subscription, you can try it for just a month and then stop, or you can keep a subscription going for as long as you like. Every “subscription month” you have the option of changing any or all (or none) of the five ISBNs that you follow. (Some times the system will upload the requested data instantly; in other cases, as we populate your lists, you’ll have to wait until Thursday, when the Bookscan system is updated for the week, to see your first results.) Once you enroll, you will see Bookscan sales results on your regular “book tracker” page, and on a new, dedicated Data Package page.

To learn more and enroll, visit this page. Meanwhile, we continue to offer unlimited searching of Bookscan (and the PubTrack Digital ebook sales database) on an annual basis as well, with those subscriber rolls growing all the time, too.
