The Latest Big Buzz Books Fall/Winter Sampler, Just in Time for Book Expo

May 14, 2019
By Erin Somers

With Book Expo just two weeks away, today we launch Buzz Books 2019: Fall/Winter and the companion Buzz Books 2019 Young Adult: Fall/Winter. As usual, the samplers are the best way to prepare for the convention and the publishing season ahead, with more than 50 substantial pre-publication excerpts from major authors, as well as breakout and discovery books from across the publishing landscape.

Twenty of our featured authors will appear at Book Expo, including three of the show’s featured Editor’s Buzz selections. And as our eight-year history of Buzz Books samplers has shown, you will be seeing many of these titles on the bestseller lists and year-end “best of” lists.

The consumer editions are available to download now for Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, Google Play,  Kobo, and Apple Books, (where they are being promoted on a number of high-profile pages), among other online retailers, with click-throughs for preorders. (Also all linked at our main Buzz Books website.)

Our full trade editions include marketing and publicity information on all of the titles, along with click-throughs to read or request full digital galleys on most titles. You can download through your platform of choice from NetGalley, where our samplers regularly top the most downloaded lists and drive further discovery (available also on Edelweiss).

The free adult ebook features a roster of big names, including Stephen Chbosky, Tracy Chevalier, J.T. Ellison, Jojo Moyes, Ben Lerner, Jeanette Winterson and more. This season’s collection also highlights a rich selection of debuts: Kiley Reid’s Such a Fun Age; Elizabeth Ames’ The Other’s Gold; Alexis Schaitkin’s Saint X, and David Koepp’s Cold Storage, among others.

Our biggest-ever nonfiction section rounds out the collection, with offerings from Nefertiti Austin (Motherhood So White); Susan Cahalan (The Great Pretender); Emma Copley Eisenberg (The Third Rainbow Girl); Ben Moon (Denali); Samantha Power (The Education of an Idealist); and others.

Meanwhile, our Young Adult Buzz Books edition features a variety of genres, from romance to fantasy to sports and more. Highlights include: Kobe Bryant and Annie Matthew’s Legacy and the Queen; Julia Drake’s The Last True Poets of the Sea; and Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite’s Dear Haiti, Love Alaine.

Prepare for Book Expo, Book Con, and the fall publishing season by downloading our free Buzz Books collections, and join the viral buzzmaking on social media at #BuzzBooks2019. Buzz Books are one of our favorite “good for everyone” projects — from authors and publishers to booksellers, librarians and readers — and they are driven by a wide circle of cooperation, enthusiasm and partnership. It starts with the participating authors, agents and publishers, and moves to our ebook distribution partners at Ingram CoreSource (who also produce the limited-edition printed Buzz Books that lucky booksellers receive through the ABA’s White Box mailing). NetGalley helps drive thousands of downloads and hundreds of reviews through their growing community. Thanks to all, and enjoy the buzz!
