Editorial director of All Points Books Adam Bellow will resign from St. Martin’s at the end of 2019 (after joining the publisher in fall 2016). Bellow said, “I’ve been exceptionally happy and productive at St. Martin’s. But after 30 years of honing my skills in corporate publishing I am ready to go out on my own. There is tremendous ferment in political and intellectual media and opportunities abound for entrepreneurial ventures. I’ll be making a further announcement in the fall, but for now I am very pleased to be able to transition into this new phase of my career with minimal disruption to my program.” All Points will no longer acquire new books, and will publish existing titles through August 2020. Associate editor Pronoy Sarkar and assistant editor Kevin Reilly will continue working at St. Martin’s, reporting to editor-in-chief George Witte.
Shanta Newlin has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president, executive director, publicity & corporate communications, Penguin Children’s. She’ll expand her role as head of the publicity group to include corporate communications.
Pamela Schechter has been promoted to executive director of publishing and production at The Experiment. Nicholas Cizek has been promoted to executive editor.
Susan Canavan has joined Waxman Literary Agency. Previously she was senior executive editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
