At Knopf, Julianne Clancy has been promoted to assistant director of marketing. Emily Murphy moves up to marketing manager.

Joanna Cárdenas has been promoted to senior editor at Kokila.

Marisol Salaman has been promoted to publicist at Portfolio/Sentinel.

Carla Bruce-Eddings has joined Catapult/Counterpoint/Soft Skull as senior publicist.

Cassie Mannes Murray has been promoted to assistant agent at Howland Literary.

Former Melbourne University Publishing chief executive Louise Adler has joined Hachette Australia as publisher at large, acquiring books on current affairs and politics.

Scouting
Sanford J. Greenburger Associates
is the adult scout for V&R Editoras in Latin America and Brazil.

Edmison Harper Literary Scouting is scouting for Redrum Productions, Passenger Pictures, and Fremantle North America.

Mary Anne Thompson Associates is now scouting for Harper Holland.

Obituary
Dorothea Benton Frank
, 67, author of 20 novels, died Monday evening after a brief illness. Her latest book Queen Bee was published by William Morrow last May.

Forthcoming
“Emily Doe,” the woman who was sexually assaulted on Stanford’s campus by Brock Turner and then drew global attention with her victim impact statement, has identified herself as Chanel Miller. Viking will release her memoir KNOW MY NAME on September 24. Editor Andrea Schulz tells the NYT, “It is one of the most important books that I’ve ever published,” with the potential to “change the culture that we live in and the assumptions we make about what survivors should be expected to go through to get justice.”
