American Booksellers Association ceo Oren Teicher, who is retiring at the end of the year, will be honored with the National Book Foundation’s Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community. Author and bookseller Ann Patchett will present the award at the National Book Awards ceremony on November 20.
Marleen Reimer has joined Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as subsidiary rights manager for general interest books. She was formerly senior scout at Maria B. Campbell Associates.
Laura Zats and Erik Hane have launched Headwater Literary Management, a new agency based in Minneapolis. Both were previously at Red Sofa Literary.
At Simon & Schuster, Chris Wagner has been promoted to vice president, operations and distribution services, responsible for all domestic distribution operations in Riverside, NJ, and Milan, TN, reporting to Dennis Eulau. He takes over from Dave Schaeffer, vice president, distribution and fulfillment, who is retiring at the end of October. He joined the company in 1992.
Jennifer M. Brown has rejoined Shelf Awareness as a senior editor, overseeing the newsletter for readers, along with other projects. She most recently was librarian at the Bank Street College of Education, and was publisher at Knopf Children’s. Stefanie Hargreaves is leaving at the end of the month as a result.

Jordi Nolla has been appointed sales director of Flame Tree Publishing. Nolla previously worked worked as rights manager at Carlton Books and Quarto.
