Cindy Sipala has been promoted to executive editor at Running Press.

Mary Reynics is moving Ballantine Bantam Dell as executive editor, reporting to Jennifer Hershey. She was previously at Crown, and will continue to edit select titles for Crown Forum.

Robert Van Kolken joins the Hachette Audio staff as senior producer. He was previously with Macmillan.

At Scholastic, Michael Moccio has joined as coordinator, licensing & brands. He was previously assistant editor at Boom! Studios. Paul Moore has joined as associate director, metadata. He was previously manager, publishing & planning (operations) at Disney Publishing. Veronica Mang has joined as junior designer, licensing & brands.

Rebecca Shoenthal has joined Skyhorse as editor (she was at Portfolio & Sentinel); Yezanira Venecia is assistant editor (she was editor and acquisition coordinator at Siren-BookStrand); and Kai Texel has been hired as cover designer.

Awards
The MacArthur Foundation announced its 2019 fellows. The 26 recipients include cartoonist and graphic novelist Lynda Barry, 63 (Cruddy); literary scholar and cultural historian Saidiya Hartman, 58 (Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments); writer Valeria Luiselli, 36 (Lost Children Archive); poet and fiction writer Ocean Vuong, 30 (On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous); and classicist and translator Emily Wilson, 47 (The Odyssey).

Ileene Smith will receive this year’s editorial excellence award from the Biographers International Organization.
