Annabelle Saks has joined Harper Children’s in the newly created position of director, media, starting November 4, reporting to Jean McGinley. She was previously senior scout at Maria B. Campbell Associates,.

At Simon Spotlight, Lisa Rao has been promoted to executive editor and Beth Barton has been promoted to senior editor. Shivani Annirood has joined Simon & Schuster Children’s as associate publicist. She was most recently marketing and publicity assistant at Macmillan Children’s.

Cindy Kei has been promoted to subsidiary rights associate at Simon & Schuster. Nicole Hines becomes associate marketing manager.

Elina Vaysbeyn joins Shambhala Publications as sales and marketing director, reporting to newly named publisher, KJ Grow, in their Boulder, CO office. She was most recently associate marketing director at Dutton.

At Gallery Books, Jessica Roth has been promoted to associate director of publicity; Michelle Podberezniak to senior publicist; and Anabel Jimenez to social media associate. Bianca Salvant joins as marketing manager, moving over from Atria.

Hope Levy has been promoted to sales & marketing coordinator for Catapult/Counterpoint/Soft Skull Press.

Kianna Shore has joined Ladderbird Literary Agency as an agent. She was previously with Gaumont television.

Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo, two of the three people recently awarded the Nobel Prize for economics, have their latest book GOOD ECONOMICS FOR HARD TIMES coming November 12 from Public Affairs.
