Brian Belfiglio has been promoted to vp, director of publicity and marketing at Scribner, continuing to report to Nan Graham. He will oversee a merged department “in order to publicize and promote our books most effectively.” A new marketing director will be hired under Belfiglio.

VP, associate publisher Roz Lippel continues in her role, still leading the marketing and branding efforts on Stepehen King titles. Following her work on the revision of Joy of Cooking, she will also focus on developing new cooking, health and lifestyle titles.

Dina Davis has been promoted to associate editor at Harlequin for the Love Inspired and Love Inspired Suspense romance lines. Carly Silver has been promoted to associate editor for Harlequin Romantic Suspense.

Rebecca Carlisle has been promoted to executive director, marketing & publicity for the Workman imprint.

Nancy Seitz has joined Boyds Mills & Kane as managing editor. Previously, she was managing editor at Farrar, Straus Children’s.
Nicholas Croce has joined Stimola Literary Studio as director of operations. He was formerly with Rosen Publishing for over 18 years, where he was most recently managing editor.

Alanna Feldman Scouting has been appointed US scout for Otwarte in Poland.

Larry Dunphy, 81, owner of Books on First in Dixon, Illinois died on Thanksgiving day. He continued to work 70-hour weeks at the store up until the week before his death.

Caroline Criado Perez‘s Invisible Women (Abrams Press) won the Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award.

Picks
Madeline Miller‘s Circe is the December pick for the NYT-PBS Now Read This book club.

The UK’s Booksellers Association will launch a program naming an Indie Book of the Month starting in March 2020.
