Todd Noden has been promoted to president at Books-a-Million. He was chief operating officer and chief financial officer, and now he adds leadership of the company’s store operations group to his other responsibilities.

James Meader left his position as vp, associate publisher at Picador last week and will join Vintage Anchor on December 16 as executive director of publicity and social media, reporting to Suzanne Herz.

Register of Copyrights Karyn Temple will leave her position on January 3 to join the Motion Picture Association of America as global general counsel.

At Scholastic Trade, Zachary Clark becomes senior editor. Rachel Matson and Olivia Valcarce have both been promoted to associate editor. Jonah Newman, Shelly Romero, and Talia Seidenfeld each move up to assistant editor.

Cormac McEvoy has joined Klutz as senior product manager, leading the Klutz Maker Lab line (he was at Alex Brands). Lynnette Munoz has joined Klutz as junior designer (she was at Canal Toys, as well as working as a freelance illustrator). Teresa Malik has been promoted to senior brand manager, global licensing, brands & media. Jessica Meltzer becomes senior designer, licensing, brands & media. Vanessa Han moves up to associate art director for Klutz. Courtney DeVerges has been promoted to national account manager for Klutz.

At Viking UK, Katy Loftus has been promoted to publisher, and Vikki Moynes joins the fiction team as assistant editor (she was at HQ Stories).

Bookselling
David Glickman reports on Twitter that he and other employees at McNally Jackson are voting on Thursday to unionize.

Corporate
Bloomsbury has acquired London-based drama publisher Oberon Books for £1.2 million.

Forthcoming
The next title in Dav Pilkey‘s bestselling Dog Man series will be Dog Man: Grime and Punishment, publishing September 1, 2020. Scholastic made the announcement as Dog Man: Fetch-22, published today with a 5 million copy first printing.
