People, Etc.

February 14, 2020By Erin Somers

Sam Raim has joined Hachette Books as senior editor. He was previously editor at Penguin Books.

Anna Cooperberg and Sun Robinson-Smith have each been promoted to assistant editor at the Workman imprint. Scott Trebing has joined as reprint and display manager, and will be responsible for all of the Workman and Algonquin reprints as well as all company point-of-purchase displays. He was previously senior production manager at Simon & Schuster.

At Welbeck Publishing, Nico Poilblanc will join as UK sales director and Angie Willocks as international sales director at the end of March. Both are moving over from Bonnier Books UK and report to James Horobin.

Daniela Schlingmann Literary Scouting is now scouting for Independent Polish publisher Poradnia K. and PrintzPublishing in Sweden.

Imprints
Harlequin’s Love Inspired inspirational romance imprint will add a trade paperback fiction publishing program starting in spring 2021. Executive editor Tina James says in the announcement, “The popularity of our Love Inspired and Love Inspired Suspense romance lines has encouraged us to expand in new and exciting ways. The trade imprint’s longer word count will allow for more complex stories and characters, and I’m excited to see the first submissions.”

Picks
Good Morning America chose In Five Years by Rebecca Serle as their March book club pick. (They did not make a selection for February.)

Bookselling
Nightbird Books in Fayetteville, AR will close at the end of February after 14 years in business.
