Through May 18, the online news provider is granting the public access to 22,000 condensed books, articles, reports and videos to help “people make sound decisions to navigate the coronavirus pandemic.”

Hachette Book Group Indie Home Delivery
An initiative to provide extra margin to “any independent bookstore that offers local delivery of books to homes or businesses within their community done directly by a store staff member or other contracted local delivery service.” Between March 16 and May 15, bookstores will receive an additional discount of 5 percent off MSRP on any delivered HBG title once receipt of the credit request form is received with no minimum order to be eligible for the rebate. HBG has also added special terms for curbside pickup, plus a new lower minimum order quantity.

 

Chronicle Books
Is offering indie booksellers an additional 5 percent discount and 90-day dating at their standard minimum, which is 10 units for bookstores. It applies to their distribution clients as well. They note, “At this time and for the foreseeable future, we have plenty of inventory and can ship immediately.”

Workman Publishing
The publisher is extending flexible payment options and an additional discount to stores. They say, “We are experiencing high demand on books that directly respond to current needs, particularly in the education category, and to make it as easy as possible to order books of need, we are offering an additional discount, free freight, 120-day dating, and no minimum. This offer is open to the entire Workman Publishing, Co. backlist for all imprints through a store’s sales rep or customer service.”

Candlewick Press
They have created a “Together We’re Stronger” offer for indies, with additional discount and dating to help retailer costs during the crisis. Retailers can contact their sales representatives, or elise.supovitz@candlewick.com.
