Andie Krawczyk joined Chronicle Books as children’s marketing director.

Stefanie Schroeder been promoted to publicity director for Thomas Nelson Gift and Zondervan Gift.

In the UK, Emily Barrett has been promoted to editorial director for Sphere nonfiction. Fiona Rose joins as commissioning editor starting April 20. She was previously at Michael O’Mara Books.

Nelle Andrew has joined the Rachel Mills Literary agency. She was at PFD and will continue working with her clients.

JK Rowling believes she had COVID-19 and is now “fully recovered,” but shared on Twitter some breathing techniques recommended by a UK doctor and nurse.

Kate Mattes, 72, former owner of Kate’s Mystery Books in Boston, died on March 26 in Bennington, VT of cardiac arrest.

Actor turned biographer Patricia Bosworth, 86, died of COVID-19.

The New York Times launched a new podcast called Sugar Calling featuring Cheryl Strayed seeking advice from “some of the most prolific writers of our time — all over the age of 60 — who’ve long inspired her for courage and insight.” New episodes are released every Wednesday.
