By Erin Somers

Longtime director of Ingram Spark Robin Asbury Cutler will retire at the end of 2020. She joined Ingram in 2011 and led the launch of Spark in 2013. She says in the announcement, “I’ve been planning to step down for some time but decided to stay on through 2020 when the pandemic hit. We weren’t quite finished with what we needed to do to support our community during this challenging time.” The company will start a search for replacement. VP of Lightning Source Kelly Gallagher comments, “Every once in a while, a leader comes along who can help lead the transformation of a business, or market. Robin’s stewardship of Ingram Spark has helped transform Ingram Content Group’s business into one that allows anyone who wants to be involved in publishing a chance to succeed. We will miss Robin greatly and wish her the very best as she moves on to her next adventure.”

Kayla Cichello joins Upstart Crow Literary as agent on August 1, based on the West Coast. She was previously assistant to senior agent Jennifer Rofe at Andrea Brown Literary Agency.

Michael DeCarlo has been promoted to director of information systems at Sourcebooks.

The Jerusalem International Book Forum (JIBF) is scheduled for May 2-6, 2021. Director Yoel Makov says, “We are working towards May 2021 with the hope that we can all come together once more; of primary importance will be the personal safety of all JIBF participants and attendees.”

Forthcoming
On October 20 Delacorte Press will publish TOGETHER, APART, a paperback anthology of YA contemporary love stories set during life in lockdown. In support of the publication, the publisher will make a donation to Active Minds, a nonprofit organization dedicated to mental health education, research, and advocacy for young adults. SVP and publisher Beverly Horowitz says in the announcement, “This is a challenging time for us all, including teens who are facing an uncertain future and missing out on milestone experiences like prom and graduation. It’s our hope that this book can provide some much-needed joy along with directly benefiting young people through our donation….”
