Lane Zachary will join Massie & McQuilkin Literary Agents, continuing to represent many of her current clients as well as new writers of literary fiction, memoir, and creative nonfiction.

At Simon & Schuster, Sienna Farris will take the new position of vp, director of multicultural marketing, serving as “a company-wide, senior marketing expert and champion for our multicultural publishing,” reporting to Liz Perl.

At Random House Children’s, Alison Stoltzfus has been promoted to senior director, publishing, for Princeton Review and Sylvan Learning. Suzanne Lee has joined the art department as designer, moving over from Princeton Review and Sylvan Learning. Larsson McSwain has joined the art department as designer.

Bookselling
City Lit Books in Chicago will close December 1 after eight years in business, suffering from the decline in business due to the pandemic. “Revenues have fallen dramatically,” owner Teresa Kirschbraun said. “It is likely that there will be at least another nine months before we could get back to anything resembling business as usual, and I am unable to sustain the financial losses for that long.” She also does not want to frustrate customers “during the holiday season this year due to staffing shortages, probable shipping delays and possible book shortages from publishers.”
