Author of over 40 books Jan Morris, 94, died on Friday. Dwight Garner writes in the NYT: “Even in her lesser work, you always feel a real intellect weighing and discarding ideas and objects; she made unexpected links between things. When she was good, she was very good indeed.” In 2012 Morris told an interview she had a finished manuscript to be published after her death, “with the publishers, waiting for me to kick the bucket!”

Histria Books is launching a new imprint called Prende Publishing, which “will focus on books about contemporary lifestyle, the entertainment industry, including adult entertainment, as well as creative works of poetry.” Gazelle Book Services will distribute the imprint in the UK and Europe.
