People, Etc.

November 24, 2020
By Erin Somers

Kelsey Nolan has joined Ze Books and Unnamed Press as a publicity and marketing manager. She previously worked at the Los Angeles Times as the events programming manager.

Cindy Kim has been promoted to associate editor for Little Simon.

Andree Abecassis, 81, died November 4 at home in Berkeley, CA,  following a brief struggle with cancer. For many years she worked at Ann Elmo Agency, founded by two of her aunts, and recently she had started working with Heyday Books.

Best of 2020
The New York Public Library released their Best Books package, which includes top 10s for adults, poetry, teens, and younger kids in both English and Spanish.

Forthcoming
Jordan B. Peterson‘s follow-up Beyond Order: Twelve More Rules for Life will be published on March 2. Unlike his first book, which did not have a US publisher and was distributed by PRH on behalf of Random House Canada, the new book will be published by Portfolio.

Giving
The Book Industry Charitable Foundation has a year-end campaign looking to raise another $40,000. Ingram Content Group is participating by matching up to $15,000 in donations, as “one of several ways Ingram is working to help independent booksellers during these trying times.” Chairman John Ingram says, “We hope it inspires others to give as well.”
