Download Our New Buzz Books Sampler, with Excerpts of Great Forthcoming Reads

January 19, 2021By Erin Somers

Today we launch our big Buzz Books 2021: Spring/Summer digital sampler, now in its twelfth year. With digital promotion taking on a more central role than ever, we present excerpts from 46 of the most buzzed-about books scheduled for publication this spring and summer in an exclusive, free ebook. It’s a taste of the fun and discovery of galley grabbing at Winter Institute, in a work-from-home package.

Most Publishers Lunch readers will want the trade editions of Buzz Books, which include marketing/publicity and rights information and contacts for all of the titles, plus easy click-throughs to read or request full digital galleys on most titles. Download it from NetGalley or Edelweiss, where our samplers regularly top the most downloaded lists.

For viral sharing among readers, the consumer editions of Buzz Books 2021 Spring/Summer are available now on all major ebook platforms, including Kindle, Nook, Apple Books, Google Play, Kobo and the universe of etailers served by Ingram.

This season’s edition includes new work from major bestselling authors including Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney, Jean Hanff Korelitz, Lisa Scottoline, and Tia Williams, along with literary work from Pulitzer work Viet Thanh Nguyen and Leila Slimani. As always, we have a slate of exciting new voices, with excerpts from debuts by Amanda Dennis, Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, Carolyn Ferrell, Gabriela Garcia, and more. Nonfiction picks feature two World War II stories, one by Boys in the Boat author Daniel James Brown and a second by Mari K. Elder. Plus, the anthology begins with a comprehensive preview of hundreds of notable forthcoming books to have on your radar.

Additionally, after the success of our inaugural Buzz Books Editors Panel last May, we are bringing back the virtual event with a brand new slate of titles. Register now for the panel on January 27 to hear from editors Lindsey Schwoeri, Kathy Pories, Megan Lynch, Sarah McGrath, Erin Wicks, Retha Powers, and Deb Futter, as they describe what’s special about these new Buzz Books titles:

Flynn Berry, NORTHERN SPY (Viking)
Gabriela Garcia, OF WOMEN AND SALT (Flatiron Books)
Kaitlyn Greenidge, LIBERTIE (Algonquin).
Miranda Cowley Heller, THE PAPER PALACE (Riverhead)
Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, THE LOVE SONGS OF W.E.B. DU BOIS (Harper)
Carolyn Ferrell, DEAR MISS METROPOLITAN (Holt)
Erin French, FINDING FREEDOM (Celadon)

Prepare for the coming season by downloading our free Buzz Books collections, and join the viral buzzmaking on social media at #BuzzBooks2021. Buzz Books are one of our favorite “good for everyone” projects — from authors and publishers to booksellers, librarians and readers — and they are driven by a wide circle of cooperation, enthusiasm and partnership. It starts with the participating authors, agents and publishers, and moves to our ebook distribution and promotion partners. Thanks to all, and enjoy the buzz!
