Bertelsmann’s supervisory board renewed chairman and ceo Thomas Rabe‘s contract for another five years, with his third term beginning January 1, 2022. Rabe has held the position since 2012. Chairman of the board Christoph Mohn says, “I am delighted about the renewal of Thomas Rabe’s contract. In a time of increasingly rapid change, this is a clear sign of continuity. Thomas Rabe is a strategist with outstanding analytical skills and an excellent manager who has proven his and his team’s merits once again during the Corona crisis. He has successfully led Bertelsmann in recent years and strengthened it for the future. We wish him continued success.”
Gracie Mercado has joined Macmillan Trade and Shared Services as svp, human resources, reporting to Macmillan Global coo Andrew Weber. She was most recently vp, team HR support for the National Basketball Association. She will also join Macmillan’s trade management committee and D&I steering committee.
Julia Elliott has been promoted to associate editor for William Morrow.
At Avery/TarcherPerigee, Sara Johnson has been promoted to senior marketing manager. Carla Iannone has been promoted to social media and marketing coordinator.
Events
The ABA has rescheduled the 9th annual Children’s Institute, previously planned for June in Tucson, to August 30–September 1, when they still hope to convene an in-person event.
