People, Etc.: Duggan to Holt

Tim Duggan will join Holt as vp, executive editor on February 1, reporting to Sarah Crichton. He was most recently the editor and publisher of an eponymous imprint at Crown. Crichton says in the announcement, “I admire Tim’s breadth of interests and versatility, and his sharp eye for talent.”

At Random House Children’s Group, Bria Ragin will join as editor for Delacorte Press and the new Joy Revolution imprint on January 19. She was previously assistant editor at Quill Tree Books. Lois Evans has been promoted to assistant editor at the Random House Children’s imprint.

Connie Hsu has been promoted to editorial director at Roaring Brook Press.

Gina Iaquinta has been promoted to editor at Liveright.

Kayleigh George has been promoted to senior director, marketing for William Morrow, taking on an expanded
advisory role for nonfiction across William Morrow, cookbooks, gift, and Custom House.

Ashley Harris has joined Dexterity as a marketing and publicity specialist.

Alexandra Weiss has joined Jennifer Azantian Literary Agency as an associate agent. She was previously associate agent at The Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency.

Nick Walters has been promoted to senior literary agent and rights manager at David Luxton Associates.

Norton chairman and president Julia A. Reidhead joins the National Book Foundation board, following the retirement of W. Drake McFeely, Norton’s former president and chairman, who previously served as treasurer and was a member of the board for 13 years. Attorney and longtime board member PD Villarreal has been elected treasurer.

Awards
The new $50,000 Gotham Book Prize has nominated 10 titles, with the winner to be named in March.

Events
Amanda Gorman, a 22 year old poet, will read at President-elect Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday. Viking Children’s will publish THE HILL WE CLIMB, a debut poetry collection named for the poem she will read tomorrow, on September 21, 2021, alongside Gorman’s debut picture book CHANGE SINGS.

Distribution
Page Two Books in Vancouver, Canada will use Macmillan to handle US and international sales (excluding Canada) and distribution for all physical and audio titles starting July 1.
