Awards
The ALA’s Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence were given to Deacon King Kong by James McBride and Fathoms: The World in the Whale! by Rebecca Giggs.

Legal
Law firm Hagens Berman amended their bizarre class action anti-trust lawsuit against Amazon, changing from naming the five largest trade book publishers as unindicted co-conspirators to serving them as co-defendants. The allegations cover publisher agreements that were negotiated under the strict oversight of the Department of Justice for a five-year period as required under the consent decrees each of the publishers entered into to settle the original ebook pricing lawsuit.
