Kathryn Deaton has been promoted to marketing coordinator at Macmillan Children’s.

Miranda Paul has been promoted to agent at Erin Murphy Literary Agency.

At Westwood Creative Artists, Bridgette Kam is moving from the rights department to become a literary associate, working with Jackie Kaiser and Hilary McMahon. Caroline Vassallo has been promoted to international rights associate and film/tv associate. Briar Jones has joined the company as office manager.

Awards
PEN America announced its 2021 award winners in a ceremony on Thursday evening. Ross Gay’s Be Holding won the $75,000 PEN/Jean Stein Book Award; Asako Serizawa‘s Inheritors was awarded the PEN Open Book Award; Kawai Strong Washburn‘s Sharks in the Time of Saviors won the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel; and Barbara Ehrenreich’s Had I Known received the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award. The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation announced its 2021 fellows, including fiction writers Kaitlyn Greenidge, Mitchell S. Jackson, Tayari Jones, Daniel Mason, Laura van den Berg, and Paul Yoon. Recipients also include 10 nonfiction winners, 10 poets, and three writers of literary criticism.

The finalists for the 2021 New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award are:
