Joy Bivins has been promoted to director of the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, starting June 21. She succeeds Kevin Young, who left in January to head the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
In their obituary of Dick Robinson, the NYT reports that his son Reece said the cause of death was said “a sudden stroke or heart attack while Mr. Robinson was out for a walk near the family’s home” on Martha’s Vineyard.
